Abstract

β-lysine activity in the blood is one of informative indicators of physiological status of a human and animals, that is why measuring its level is very important for application a test in medicine and veterinary. However, the use of the test is limited because the reaction is a labor-consuming process. The purpose of the study is examining the applicability of γ-radiation for obtaining test-culture Bacillus subtilis of optimal size for quantitative measurement of β-lysine activity in the blood of farm animals and a human. The level of β-lysine activity in the blood of sheeps, horses and a human measured with native and γ-irradiated suspension was reliably similar. Comparative analysis of seasonal changes of β-lysine activity in the blood of cows measured with native and irradiated testcultures Bacillus subtilis confirmed general common biological regularity that the highest level of β-lysine activity is in autumn winter season, and the lowest level is in the spring-summer season. The results of the study show that the use of γ-radiation for obtaining test-culture Bacillus subtilis with optimal size of particles without preliminary filtration allows to simplify the measuring β-lysine activity in the blood of farm animals and a human, as well as to reduce significantly consumption of reagents.
