Mortality among the children in Chelyabinsk-65 in 1974-1992

Abstract

Epidemiological study was carried out on the base of medical and dosimetric registry of the children (1974-1988 years of birth) of Chelyabinsk-65 in order to estimate mortality for the period from 1974 to 1992. The doses of technogeneous radiation exposure accumulated by the children of Chelyabinsk-65 for the period of 1974-1992 years are not higher than exposure from background radiation. For the last 18 years all mortality causes among the children of Chelyabinsk-65 is lower than in the whole country, but cancer mortality reaches the national average coefficient.
