Abstract

This issue of the Bulletin of the National Radiation and Epidemiological Register "Radiation and Risk" opens a series of annual publications that will review the main characteristics of the RNMDR database as of the end of the previous year. The bulletin consists of a brief overview of the state of the RNMDR database as of December 1, 1997 and the actual tabular material that can be conditionally divided into several blocks: registration information for the territories, primary registration groups, sex and age composition and dose groups, the passage of the 1993-1996 contingent for the medical examination in the RNMDR, the distribution of health groups and disability groups in 1996, the incidence of morbidity (for newly diagnosed diseases) and morbidity (total morbidity) of male liquidators for the main classes of diseases in different regions of Russia in 1993-1996. In the tables, which show the incidence and morbidity, information is given up to 1996 inclusive. The lack of indicators for 1997 is due to the verification (clarification) of medical and demographic information, which usually takes 2-3 years in personalized registers.
